Here are the answers to the most asked questions about the family!
• Where is mom?
- "She is at home! Probably watching Big Bang Theory
with our dog, haha. When we 3 head off to work, she
likes to take the night off and kick her feet up. She's an
introverted stay-at-home mom/wife... and can sing off-
key pretty well! (Haha, we love you!). She homeschooled
us girls growing up and now... we bring home the bacon
and she fries it up in a pan!"
• What instruments do you play?
- Rick - Silver-Blue Gretsch G5622T-140 Electromatic
140th Anniversary, Double Platinum Edition,
Center Block/Bigsby.
- Presley - "Rosie", a 3/4 Silver Creek Rocker Upright
Bass (no, its not a cello).
- Jessica - Aqua Blue TAMA Club Jam Kit - LJK48S &
Zildgian Cymbals
• Aren't you afraid the kick drum is going to break when Jessica jumps on it!?
- "It will eventually happen, but not for a awhile, she's tiny.
And we're not concerned... its just the price of doing
business (oh well). Jessicas far more worried that it won't
get recorded when it does finally happen!"
• Is performing your full-time job?
- "Yes it is! This is how we all earn a living. When we're not
performing on stage, you can always find us working to
develop our show. And me (Presley) working on our band
24/7 between bookings, scheduling, video content,
website, songs, etc.
There is a LOT that goes on behind the scenes and keeps us
busy 24/7, 365."
• Other than playing your instruments, what else do you do in the band?
- Rick: Leader/El Hefe, Driver, Sound Tech,
- Presley: Manager - All Business & Bookings, Video
Creation/Editing, Networking, Website, etc
- Jessica: Social Media Manager, Everything Artistic &
Creative, Gear Loader
• What religion is the family?
- "We're all Christians. Jessica and I (Presley) read the
Bible daily and we all pray together as a family daily
(usually while driving together).
We thank the Lord for this amazing life He has blessed
us with; to guide our path in alignment with His will and
purpose for our lives; and to have His light shine through
us to everyone we meet.
Rick was a worship leader for 30+ years, and was a
missionary in Mexico in '88, and Russia in '90/'91.
And us girls got started playing music in church.
We've served in Vineyard, Non-Denominational, & Baptist
churches."
• How did you get started as a family band?
- "We lived in Clarksville Tennessee (above Nashville) where Ft Campbell is (2nd largest military base in America)... and most of dads worship band at the time were military and were being shipped overseas or across America and he kept losing his bandmates.
So he decided to teach Jessica and I music.... because we couldn't move away, haha.
That was back in 2016. Then we started playing around Nashville in nursing homes for their residents... and I (Presley) had been a daily 1950s girl for a year (or so) and wanted us to also learn the good ole 50s tunes.
But we didn't take music as a job seriously at this point, we still had different life trajectories in mind.
But when we moved to East Tennessee in 2018, we started playing with Tunes & Tales in Gatlinburg and the Lord kept opening doors for us to play music... we've continued to follow His path and pursue music, develop our show, build this business, and try to be good stewards of what He's given us."
